The Black Butte Ranch Police Department is seeking to establish a small group of  Oregon DPSST Certified officers who are interested in maintaining their DPSST certifications, but who may no longer be interested in the rigors of a full-time law enforcement career.

These on-call police officers will be utilized to supplement our current staffing levels and assist in filling open patrol shifts. These open shifts would most often be the result of a full-time officer using their PTO time or when the Department determines it needs additional officers on duty and the full-time officers do not want to work the overtime shift. 

On-call officers will only be asked if they would like to work, they will not be forced to work. In essence, you can work when you want to. 

Our ideal candidate is a recently retired police officer from Central Oregon who either still has a valid DPSST Certification or has a lapsed certification that is eligible to be reactivated. Individuals who recently retired from other agencies in Oregon are also strongly encouraged to apply.
