BBR Alerts

BBR Alerts - is an information only, non-emergency keyword messaging app intended to provide situational awareness and community updates to recipients. Recipients must signup (see instructions below) to receieve BBR Alerts messages.

All users who have signed up will receive a message regardless of their current location from one of the following organizations:

  1. The Black Butte Ranch Police Department
  2. The Black Butte Ranch Fire Department
  3. Deschutes County 9-1-1 Dispatch Center
  4. Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Emergency Management Unit

BBR Alerts is for information only, non-emergency messaging.

The following is a partial list of event types that may trigger a informational, non-emergency message to be sent on the BBR Alerts platform.

  • Missing/lost persons
  • Be On the Look Out (BOLO) events (suspicious persons, missing pets, wolf or bear sightings)
  • Severe weather preparedness
  • Utilities outages/impacts and restoration updates
  • Planned event notifications (traffic/parking/operations impacts)
  • Non-emergency road closures and detours
  • Wildfire smoke/air quality information (non-evacuation messages)

INSTRUCTIONS: To sign-up for BBR Alerts, Text 888777 and type in BBRALERTS to opt into the  messaging program.

NOTE: BBR Alerts is not the primary emergency public alert and warning method for Deschutes County. Deschutes Alerts  is the County's primary emergency alert and warning system, including for incidents affecting Black Butte Ranch.
