Public Records Request
Requests for information must be submitted in writing. Any document or media that is the property of another agency must be requested from that agency. We can only process requests for items in the posession of the Black Butte Ranch Police Department.

Any Public Records Act request made by a non-public safety agency or individual must be specific as to what information is being requested. The format the information is provided back to the requestor in will be determined by the Black Butte Ranch Police Department (BBRPD). Upon receiving the written request BBRPD will respond within five business days with an acknologement of reciept and the estimated fees to fulfill your request.
Once the estimated fees have been collected, your request will be processed in the order it was received. The timeliness of our response will depend on staffing, the number of other requests we are working on, and the size of the records you are requesting. Our obligation is to fulfill your request as soon as practical and without unreasonable delay. Please allow up to 20 business days for processing, especially if you have a time sensitive need for the record, such as a court date. If we have a large number of requests, or if your request is large or complex, it may take well more than 20 business days to complete.

I understand that every person has a right to inspect any public body in this state, except as otherwise expressly
provided by ORS 192.501 to 192.505. Further, I understand that fees will be charged to reimburse the district of its actual cost in making the records available (per ORS 192.324). Such calculation may include professional staff time, costs for summarizing, compiling, or tailoring a record to meet my request. Copies of large documents may be taken to a commercial copy business. For those documents, the fee will be actual cost plus staff time. I hereby request the Black Butte Ranch Police Department Records Officer to produce, as best to their ability, the records specified below. Advanced payment of $30.00 is required prior to any records search and covers the first eight pages of a report. We only accept CASH or CHECK. Checks should be made out to Black Butte Police. For charges estimated to be over $30.00., you will be notified prior to records search.
