Coyotes at Black Butte Ranch (click here for more info)

A coyote walking through snow, showcasing its distinctive fur and keen expression in a natural winter setting.
Coyotes are a natural and common sight in Oregon and native to North America . Their presence in Central Oregon predates The  Ranch by thousands of years.  January through March is the mating season for coyotes and is a time when they will be more active , visible and verbal. In the event you see a coyote there is no need to call the police department unless you suspect that it is acting suspicously.  As always, it is  important for you to keep and eye on your children and pets when living in a wilderness environment.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               To learn more about living with coyotes visit https://myodfw.com/wildlife-viewing/species/coyote
